Dinner, Anyone?

Last week I made chili for dinner. It's not a favorite, and I know that, but I like it and it's inexpensive and filling so I continue to make it periodically. This last time I made it I asked who liked it and Z, J, & M all raised their hands.

L said: "It's not as bad as it usually is."

Two nights ago, as I was kneading the pizza dough, L walks through the kitchen.

L: "What's for dinner?"
Mom: "Pizza."
L: "Have you started doing something different? Because it's not as bad as it used to be."

I need to explain to him someday that his wife might not be as accepting of his compliments as I am.

LOL! They sure know how to make a girl feel special, don't they? I am thrilled that mine actually eat chili. I don't think most kids care all that much for beans. Praise the Lord, I've got bean-eaters. Someone on the wtm-board shared a recipe for the Wendy's Secret Recipe Chili and I fix this at least twice a month all winter long. I LOVE chili!

My dh is the middle boy from a 3 boy set. He told me that my calves "look like cat fish bellies." It was a sincere compliment.

My son recently said "Mom, you make the best food. I just don't like all of it."

boys :) gotta love 'em!
