The Telemarketer

The same telemarketer that hung up on me below has called back at least three times. The first time Cr answered and told her he wasn't interested. The second time I told her not to call, we weren't interested, and she said that she needed to talk to Cr and I was mean to her last time she called. Uh, what?! Anyway...

She just called back and asked for Cr. I told her to hold on a minute and put the phone in front of the TV so she could listen to M play Mario for awhile. She eventually hung up.

So, what would you do about a telemarketer/stalker? She claims that she needs to talk to Cr because he took an over the phone survey and now she has a certificate for him. We are on the Do Not Call lists.

Explain to the telemarketer that Cr is extremely intelligent, has numerous certificates that mean a lot more than hers and that if it is so important to her, then she can mail it to him (she obviously has your phone number, probably your address, too). If that doesn't work, let her listen to the kids practice piano. One can only hear "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" so many times... The Mario bit was great! Keep it up Co. You'll win this battle!

Tell her that before she sends Cr anything, he needs her name AND her supervisor's name AND a contact number so that he can verify the legitimacy of the company. If that doesn't work, explain that since they're calling a number on the No Call List they can lose their telemarketing license, and she could lose her respected position with the company.

I don't know what happened to my comment. I thought I posted it yesterday. Evidently went into la-la land. You'll just have to take my word for it that it was wonderful...I did research and everything. Anyway, it all boiled down to reporting the number to the FTC or, of course, the airhorn.

I vote for the airhorn...very close to the speaker...but first lure her into her secure place, then blast away...
OR -
Let me talk to her when I get there!

C, are you sure you're still on the Do Not Call lists? My Dad started getting lots of calls and when he tried to lodge a complaint they reminded him that the registration expires after 5 years and has to be re-done.

Probably too easy, huh?
